Commack Middle School Principal Appointed
Michael LarsonMichael Larson was appointed as the principal of Commack Middle School at a special Board of Education meeting on August 16, 2018.  Mr. Larson, who was one of the Assistant Principals at Commack High School, will be joining the administrative team at the Middle School immediately, to fill the vacancy left by former principal, Anthony Davidson. High School Assistant Principal Appointed
Andrea AllenWe are happy to announce that Andrea Allen was appointed as the new Assistant Principal at Commack High School, filling the position left vacant when Michael Larson was appointed as the principal at Commack Middle School.  Andrea was previously the Coordinator of Student Affairs and Attendance at Commack High School, and has taught in our District for twenty years. The Back to School section is now posted on the Commack Website. Those pages contain Commack School District forms you may need to complete as well as important information for each school. To alleviate access delays or slowdowns on our network, schedules and class assignments will be posted on the Parent Portal according to the schedule below.  Should you need assistance, please contact the Counseling Center at your child's school (grades 6-12) or the main office (grades K-5).

BOE Member Resigns
On August 1, 2018, the Commack Board of Education accepted the resignation of Ms. Pamela Verity from her position as Board Trustee (click here for a copy of the investigative report discussed at the meeting). The resignation, dated July 31, 2018, is effective immediately.  Ms. Verity no longer, formally or informally, represents the Commack Board of Education or the Commack School District in any capacity (not as a liaison or ambassador, etc.).  The resignation removes her from any and all Board/District committees on which she sat as a Board of Education member.

The Board will make a determination regarding whether or not to fill the seat left vacant by Ms. Verity as soon as practical.
New Assistant Principals at Middle School and Sawmill
Evelyn Cardenas Maria RuffiniThe Commack School District is pleased to announce the appointment of two assistant principals in our schools. Evelyn Cardenas, formerly the assistant principal at Sawmill Intermediate School, will fill the open position at Commack Middle School.  Dr. Maria Ruffini, a teacher in Commack for many years, will be the assistant principal at Sawmill.
