Boys JV Basketball Season Wrap-Up

Congratulations to the Boys JV Basketball team on a stellar season, finishing up with a 15-5 overall record.  The boys went 5-1 in their non-league games and 10-4 during their league season.  The team was able to overcome many illnesses and injuries this year, and was able to overcome those obstacles by being an unselfish group who showed their depth and camaraderie game in and game out.  They always gave their best and played with intensity and passion.

The sophomore class really led the charge for the season's success.  Captains Matt, Nick, Tom, and Travis provided both skill and leadership for the rest of the boys. They demanded the most from themselves and the others each and every practice and game.  Guards Shane and Kevin provided back-court strength with their defense and 3-point shooting ability.  Forwards, Aidan and Anthony were great giving depth with their toughness, defense, passing vision and "grit."

The freshman class was also extremely talented, giving great minutes on the court and were not afraid of the change in speed and pace from the middle school.  Forwards Craig, Brandon, Ryan, and Dario provided lots of toughness and athletic ability down low.  They did not back down from the physical changes of playing down low and dominated the boards.  Guards Jake, Tommy, Dylan, Nick, Gavin, and Brendan all provided swarming defense and a fearless demeanor.  This group of guards is well balanced and can drive, pass and shoot from all over the court.  The future of the program looks bright with these freshman at the helm.

The statistical leaders for this season were:
Points: Travis
Assists: Brendan
Rebounds: Tommy
Blocks: Travis and Tommy
Steals: Matt
3-pointers: Nick
Free-Throws: Kevin

Coach Moran said, "This was a great season to watch a group of kids come together and play unselfish basketball.  No matter who played, the effort was never in question.  These boys believed in each other and it showed in every game.  Congrats to all the boys on a great season!"
