Class Information

Major topics that we will study this year include geography and the First Americans, Exploration and Colonization, the American Revolution, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the domestic and foreign policies of Presidents Washington — Lincoln,  the growth of industry, reformers, slavery, Westward Expansion and the American  Civil War. 

Grading Breakdown


The CMS Social Studies Department Grading Breakdown is as follows:
 
 Tests and quizzes 50 %
 Homework 25 %
 Projects  *** 20 % 
 Participation/preparedness    5 %
 
*** There is no project for the 4th quarter because we will be taking a final exam.  For 4th quarter, the other categories are weighted slightly heavier.
