    The Athletic Department announces the integration of a new online system, Final Forms, to reduce repetitive paperwork for families. Final Forms allows you to complete and sign required athletic participation forms from your computer, tablet or mobile device. All spring athletes will use this system.     National Title Nick

    National Title for Nick!

    Please join the Commack Track and Field program in congratulating the 2020 NATIONAL Hammer Throw Champion, Nick Pisciotta!
    Under quarantine, he competed in virtual meets with HS athletes around the country and submitted videos of his performances to USATF to be verified. Nick had a season best throw of 232'5" to take the national title, while also setting Commack and Long Island records. Additionally, Nick is the first Commack Boy's Track & Field athlete to be crowned National Champion in any event. This is a tremendous accomplishment to celebrate with this Senior Athlete!  We wish him the best of luck as he competes in college at Northeastern University and beyond!

    USPTA STARS Award

    Congratulations to Tennis Coach and CHS Counselor Jackie Clark who received the STARS Award from the United States Professional Tennis Association Eastern Division. The award is a huge honor bestowed on members who have dedicated many years to volunteering in grassroots tennis and through initiatives incorporating multicultural and other aspects and bring the sport and sportsmanship to the players they touch. Their giving spirits have made them stars in their own communities.

    Top 100 Baseball Players

     Seniors Joe P. and Jack R. were named as Newsday Top 100 baseball players! Joe, who plays 2nd base, is a three-year starter who has 26 hits and 29 runs scored. Jack is a "slick fielding shortstop" and one of the best fielding shortstops on Long Island. He was going to be a force at the top of the Cougar lineup.

    Softball Top 100 Players

    AlexaEmmiCongratulations to Alexa B. and Emmi K., both named Top 100 players by @Newsday for spring sports. Alexa, a senior softball shortstop, smashed seven home runs with the .764 slugging percentage, 35 hits, 34 funs scord and 30 RBIs last season. Emmi, a junior, was a 2019 Newsday All-Long Island second-team player (pitcher), going 15-5 with a 1.83 ERA, and 128 strikeouts in 127 innings.

    Top 25 Girls Track and Field Athletes for 2020

    Another honor for senior Alyssa B., an All-American and now named as one of the top 25 in girls track and field by Newsday. Alyssa is the defending triple jump champion, flying 40 feet 2 1/2" last June!

    Boys Lacrosse Top 100 Senior!

    Congratulations to Commack High School senior, Kieran H., named a Top 100 player by Newsday! Kieran became a lock down defender who Commack always counted on to cover the opponents best attacking player.

    Triple Jump record breaker Alissa

    Athlete of the Year and All American for Alissa!

    The Commack Indoor Track and Field program has another All American this season! Congratulations to Alissa B. for being named an All American for the second consecutive year for the Indoor 2019-2020 season in the Triple Jump!
    The US ATF, the governing body of US track and field, honored Alissa B. with the highest award, Athlete of the Year!   
    Alissa placed third at the historic Millrose Games at the NYC Armory.  Alissa jumped 40’4” at this meet. 
    Alissa set a new triple jump record at the Stanner Games earlier this month. She jumped 39 feet 3 1/2 inches!

    NYS Track and Field Indoor All American, All-State and State Champion

    Please join the Commack Track and Field program in congratulating Alissa B. and Nick P. on their great performances at the NYS Indoor Track and Field Championship meet on March 7. Alissa took home the Silver Medal in the Triple Jump event with a jump of 40'4", earning her All-State honors as well. 
    Nick became the NYS Champion in the Weight Throw event with a throw of 75'6", which set a new State Meet record! This throw also increased his Suffolk County and CHS records by 3 feet! Nick is also an ALL AMERICAN!
    Congratulation on a fantastic season!

    Coach Cardinale was named the 2019-2020 Winter Track and Field Coach of the season at the All-County Dinner!

    NYS Track & Field County Champions and State Qualifiers

    Please join the Commack Track & Field program in congratulating our County Champions and NYS Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet qualifiers!
    • Alissa B. became the Suffolk County Champion in both Long Jump and Triple Jump for the second time! In the Triple Jump, Alissa won with a jump of 41 ft 10 inches to increase her own NY State record in the event! Alissa also jumped 18 ft 11 1/2 inches to win the Long Jump event.
    • In the boy's competition, Roshan K. placed 3rd in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:32, earning All-County Honors. Additionally, Nick P. became the County Champion in the Shot Put with a throw of 54 ft 10 inches! Nick will also compete in the State Qualifier meet for the Weight Throw this Thursday, February 13th at Huntington HS, where he looks to win the County Championship and increase his NYS leading throw.

    Alissa, Roshan, and Nick will all compete in their respective events at the NYS Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet on March 7th at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. We wish all of our athletes the best of luck as they represent Commack and Suffolk County at the Championship Meet!

    Suffolk County Champion Thrower

    Congratulations to Commack’s astounding Nick P. for winning the indoor weight event at the Long Island Elite meet. Nick placed 1st with a throw of 72 feet . Nick’s throw is a new meet record! He's also a two-time Suffolk County Champion in the Weight Throw with a new Suffolk County record throw of 72 ft 9 inches! Nick continues to better his state leading mark in the event as well. Additionally, Jake S. placed 4th in the County with a throw of 47 ft 7 inches to take home All-County Honors. Congratulations to both athletes!

    Nick will look to continue his strong performance and take the state crown at the NYS Indoor Track & Field Championship meet at the Ocean Breeze Sports Complex in State Island on March 7th. We wish him luck at the state meet!
     
    Nick also took the Silver Medal in the Weight Throw at the 113th running of the Millrose Games! Nick competed against the top high school weight throwers in the country at the most prestigious indoor track meet, taking 2nd place with a throw of 71 ft 7 1/4 inches! Nick increased his own Suffolk County Weight Throw record and increased his NY State leading throw by over a foot.

    Boys Bowling

    Boys Bowler Going to Syracuse!

    Congratulations to Frank M. for finishing the season with the second highest boys bowling average in Suffolk County.   He bowled 36 games with an average of 224.94 pins per game.  Frank will be representing Commack HS at the New York State Boys Bowling Championships in Syracuse on March 14.   More +

    Congratulations to League 1 Champions Girls Varsity Volleyball and the 7 players who received post season honors at the Dec. 2 County Awards Dinner. Great Job Coach Barone and girls.
    Girls XC team

    Girls Cross Country Championship

     Congratulations to Fiona M. who won the Section XI Girls Cross Country Class A 5KM state qualifer race on November 8. She will represent Commack at the NYS Cross Country Championships in Plattsburgh next week.  She finished with a time of 19:40.  The team came in 6th place out of 16 teams.
    Commack Swim Team

    Swim Team League 1 Undefeated Champions - Denise takes the Gold at States!

    The Commack Northport girls varsity swim team are League 1 Champions!!  
    Swimming champsDenise P and Paige S represented Commack at the Girls Varsity Swimming Suffolk County Championship on November 9th, both swimming great in their events.  Denise won the 100 Breaststroke and broke her own county record with a time of 1:02.65.  She helped win the 200 Medley relay and anchored the winning 200 Free relay.  She came in second in the 100 Butterfly, out touched by .04 of a second.  Denise is ranked #1 in the Breaststroke going into the State Championship meet in Ithaca in two weeks.  She is ranked 9th in the state in the 100 Butterfly.  Both relays, 200 Medley and 200 Free, should be in medal contention also. 
     
    At the States: The Commack-Northport Girls Varsity Swim Team had an exceptional performance at the State Championships. The team finished third overall among over 100 public high schools. The medley relay (Caitlyn, Denise, Makenna & Chloe) finished second in the state. Our 200 freestyle relay (Chloe, Danielle, Makenna & Denise) finished seventh.  Denise also made it to the awards podium in the 100 yard butterfly, finishing 9th overall and was crowned NYS Champion in the 100 yard Breaststroke, improving on her Section XI record with a personal best time of 1:02.33.  

    JV Football Wrap Up

    JV Football TeamThe JV Football team closed out their incredible 7-1 season on November 2 with a 28-6 dominating win over Longwood. Matt M- 2 TDs, Tristan M- 2 TDs, Jake M-1 TD, Anthony M and Richie S both had 13 tackles. Ryan B had 2 TD passes and Devin B caught 1 TD pass.
    The team's only loss was to Floyd, 7-6. The team finished the season with 238 points scored and only 72 points scored against them.  Looking forward to seeing all of these fine young men play on the varsity. Congrats Cougars on a season to remember!!

    Boys Volleyball Update

    News from Coach Lund: "We're doing well this season with a regular season record of 11-4.  We start playoffs on Tuesday 11/4 at 5pm in Lindenhurst." The team is doing a fundraiser for the Dezystrong Foundation.  More info:  https://www.dezystrong.org/ More +

    Working Together Towards a Goal

    The Boys Varsity Soccer Team visited CMS (returning to familiar practice fields) to assist Coach Mike Kullack and Matthew Gallagher with the middle school soccer team. Our middle school student athletes were thrilled to spend time with the high school team who represented themselves, our high school sports program, and Coach Dave Moran with distinction.
