Nuts & Bolts STEAM Club

Grades: 3, 4, 5

Description:
Kids participating in Nuts & Bolts STEAM Club will be engaged in the Engineering Design process through a problem-based learning curriculum. Students will brain-storm, design, build, test and evaluate their designs in a variety of projects such as solar car design, motor boat design, exploding boomerangs, hoopgliders, etc.

In addition, students participating in this club will be introduced to computer science and will learn to develop an understanding of coding through the creation of Digital event programming. Students will learn how to create an algorithm that can be run by machine by coding an event.

Finally, students will be introduced to Robotics. They will design and build their own robot, program the robot and participate in a challenge. Students will be introduced to Mechanical Systems (motors and servos), Electrical Systems (Power supplies, circuits), Introduction to Programming (Driving, Mapping), and Introduction to Sensors (Ultrasonic, Sound, Light, Touch).
