Description:
On Tuesday, April 9 at
6:00 P.M. we will be conducting our annual 9th Grade Special
Services Orientation to introduce you to the Special Education Program at
Commack High School. This program is
designed to offer you and your child the opportunity to learn about Commack
High School's Special Education services as well as become familiar with the
staff and facility. Our purpose is to
assist each 9th grade student in achieving a smooth transition to the high
school and to answer any questions you may have with regard to the program. normal'> normal'>Please note that we
are inviting your child to attend with you for this evening event.
While parents will have their own orientation session during this event,
your child will participate in a students only orientation presented by members
of the high school special education staff as well as the student body. During this orientation, your child will be
given a tour of the building as well as have the opportunity to learn about the
high school through current students' perspectives. Most importantly, your child will be able to
ask any questions he or she may have about the building and program. In late August, a second orientation will
also be provided. normal'> normal'>In addition, the Grade 8
to 9 Transition Night for all students and parents is also being held on this
same evening, Tuesday, April 9. This
program will begin at 7:00 P.M. at Commack High School. By holding both the Special Services
Orientation and Transition Night on the same evening, it is our hope that all
parents and students will be able to stay for the entirety of both events.
