Indian Hollow Students Open Time Capsule Sealed for 25 Years

In the Year 2000, the Yankees defeated the Mets in the Subway Series, Y2K came and went without issue, and the first astronauts occupied the International Space Station.
Also that year, Indian Hollow students prepared a time capsule … with strict instructions not to open it for 25 years.
On Tuesday, that moment arrived.
Inside the primary school’s library, librarian Carla Powers joined students in Darlene Grant’s first-grade class in being the first to check out the 25-year-old contents.
Among the items was a 1999-2000 Indian Hollow yearbook, which included Mrs. Grant as Miss Donato — shortly before her wedding.
It also included a “Time for Kids” cover, an Indian Hollow birthday ribbon, reading medal and T-shirt, and popular books from the era.
The top three books that year, according to a time-capsule list: Pokemon, the Arthur Series and Dr. Seuss.
