COMMACK SCHOOLS

Commack High School now is lined with more than 500 U.S. flags alongside Townline Road and Scholar Lane.

The varsity football team as well as community members volunteered on Monday afternoon to help arrange the flags and attach them to the school's fences.

The flags annually are displayed leading into the 9/11 remembrance ceremony spearheaded by district clerk Debbie Virga and hosted at CHS.

This year's ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 11. The community is invited to attend.
