Cultivating Kindness Takes Root at Wood Park

Wood Park students are learning about the power of a kind act during assemblies on Friday morning.
Rich Specht brought his "Cultivate Kindness" message to the primary school to demonstrate the ripple effect a kind act can have.
Specht shared with the students an animated version of his book, "A Little Rees Specht Cultivates Kindness."
In the children's book, a young farmer spots a girl crying on the side of the road because her bicycle is broken. Rather than simply be nice and say something comforting, the protagonist performs an act of kindness by stopping and repairing the bicycle. That starts a chain of acts of kindness, beginning with the once-stranded girl sharing rainbow cookies with another character.
