CHS senior Aidan P. was declared the county’s Runner of the Year after earning the victory in Monday’s Section XI boys division championship at Sunken Meadow State Park.

Aidan produced a 5K time of 16:41.1 to win the scenic race by more than eight seconds over the runner-up from Shoreham-Wading River.

The last Commack runner to be the individual winner of this meet was Andrew Rosenblatt four years ago.

Overall, the Commack boys cross country team finished fourth of 20 teams on Monday.

The state qualifying and county championship meet will be held on Nov. 6.
