The CHS boys varsity soccer team defeated Brentwood, 2-1, in a battle of titans in the rain on Monday night to capture its first county title since 2020.

Ferenc B. and Ryan C. scored goals to stake the Cougars to a two-goal lead, while goalkeeper Zach B. made a highlight-reel save in the 35th minute to keep the Cougars ahead at that point.

The Cougars will face Herricks on Saturday back at Islip High School at 2 p.m. in the Long Island championship game.
