COMMACK SCHOOLS

Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox, CHS principal Carrie Lipenholtz and Board of Education student representative Kyla Gruber received a VIP tour of Burr to close the school day on Monday.

Kyla is touring Commack's schools and meeting with students in order to gain information to present at future Board of Education meetings.

Student leaders showed off some of Burr's top spaces and programs, including the recently opened student union. The tourists even got a preview of songs from next month's fifth-grade theatre performance, which promises to be "groovy."

The visit was particularly special for Kyla as well as Lipenholtz.

Kyla reunited with her former third-grade teacher, Michelle Dick, who had photos of Kyla as a primary student splashed on a smart board.

Lipenholtz attended the intermediate school as a student en route to becoming CHS' principal.
