Music teacher Nena Thompson's room turned into an Olympic venue for Sawmill fifth graders on Tuesday.

Thompson hosted a hockey shootout and curling events, with music trivia interspersed during the spirited competition.

Medals were awarded to the top hockey performers. And the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were evident on the competitors' faces.
