American League Welcomes Boys State-Bound CHS Juniors
Commack’s tradition of helping shape tomorrow’s leaders continues.
Members of American Legion Greenlawn Post 1244 visited CHS on Friday to recognize four juniors selected to attend Boys State.
Seth S., Ian B., Aaron H. and Bryan K. will attend the one week program in late June.
The program will immerse the four members of the Class of 2027 in proper citizenship and leadership training.
They learn the practical aspects of government as it exists in New York State and come to recognize that the individual is integral to the character and success of government. They also participate in physical training, teamwork and other activities under the guidance of American Legion counselors and U.S. Marines.
One of last year’s CHS attendees, current senior Francesco D., recently received an appointment to West Point.
