Commack High School counselor James DelGiudice received the first Commack Star Award of the school year Monday morning to kick off Superintendent's Conference Day. Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox presented the honor, which marks the start of the fourth year of the award program. The Commack Star Award was created for staff members to recognize colleagues who demonstrate dependability, innovation, and inspiration in their daily work.

DelGiudice is entering his 30th year in the district and has impacted thousands of district families during his tenure. Known for his high energy and innovative ideas, he regularly mentors colleagues, volunteers for school tasks, and leads events that bring the community together while expanding post-secondary opportunities for students.

Colleagues noted that anyone who shares a conversation with DelGiudice instantly feels his unique energy. CHS rising senior and student ex-officio Cassidy Gill shared that DelGiudice consistently makes time for students whenever they need support, demonstrating a deep commitment to their success.

Dr. Cox expressed gratitude for DelGiudice's decades of service to the district, calling it a privilege to work alongside him and present him with the recognition. Congratulations to James DelGiudice!
