The January 2024 Star Award was presented to Michele Condello. Michele is the Computer TA at Rolling Hills. Although that is her role - she is so much more. Michele always comes from a place of “yes.” She takes on many tasks to help make Rolling Hills a fun place for all the students and staff. She assists with Yearbook, making sure she has everyone’s best angle! She runs Hills Helper, a second grade “club” showing students how wonderful it is to be a helper and be kind. Michele assists with every technology initiative such as Newline TV’s, Book Creator, etc. She also helps fix any tech issue the minute it arises so everyone has the smoothest day! Principal of RH, Jessica Santarpia stated “Michele goes above and beyond in all she does. She has a smile on her face every day and makes others around her feel like they are the most important person in the room.”  

Melissa Read, who nominated Michele for this honor, notes “Michele’s involvement and ability to help all teachers and students throughout the building goes far beyond her job title.  Whenever an issue arises she does not hesitate to assist with a solution.  She is extremely selfless and caring.  I'm sure each teacher here can give an example of a time she "saved the day" with something involving their computer, smartboard, printer, etc.  She goes above and beyond every day.  She is an unsung hero to many."

We are so grateful to have someone like Michele on our team here in Commack. She truly embodies the spirit of what it means to be a Commack Star!
