Dear Unit PTA Presidents and Commack PTA Members:
It’s nomination time! The Council PTA Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for each position of the Commack Council of PTAs Council Executive Committee for the 2024-2025 school year. The positions are:
President
1st Vice President
2nd Vice President
Corresponding Secretary
Recording Secretary
Treasurer
We want to elect a group of officers that includes voices representative of our community. Please take a moment to think about the volunteers you know who would be terrific leaders. Each position is a one-year term with the possibility of being re-elected for a second term in that same position. In addition to the specific duties of the office position, officers are expected to attend monthly Executive Committee and PTA meetings, Superintendent Liaison meetings, officer roundtables, training, and Founders Day.
If you have someone in mind whom you would like to recommend for a position, email the Chairs ([email protected] and [email protected], “Council Nomination” in subject line) a nomination letter detailing what you know about the person you are nominating, their children’s grade levels, and why you think she or he is a great candidate. Please include your name, email address, and cell phone number(s) and the candidate’s name, email address, and cell phone number(s). Please make sure the person you are nominating is willing to serve if elected. All submissions will be kept confidential.
All nominations must be submitted no later than 5pm March 20. The proposed slate of officers will be announced at the April Council meeting. We will vote on the slate at the May Council meeting. If anyone wants to “run from the floor” at the May meeting, the Chair must be notified at least two business days prior to that meeting.
