Season Start Dates/Spectator Protocol

High School:
Spring 3/14/22
Middle School:
Late winter 1/18/22
Spring season 3/28/22

2021-2022 Winter Spectator Protocol
Due to NYS Covid regulations, Commack Athletic Department will be limiting athletic spectators to the following:
Commack Middle School
  • No restrictions at this time. However, we will continue to monitor crowd size.
Commack High School
  • Visiting teams will be allowed two spectators per player and gate list will be provided by away school.
  • Commack team members will be allowed four family members that will be listed on gate list provided by coaching staff.
  • All gate lists will be checked off on entry.
  • Student body signups for home events will take place in the south gym at 7am on the day of the contest. Space will be limited.
  • Games will be livestreamed when possible.
All athletic spectators are expected to remain socially distance at least three feet apart and have face masks on at all times.
Bowling spectator rules and capacity will depend on the bowling alley protocol. At this time there are no restrictions.

Suffolk Community College is not allowing spectators at this time for winter track. However, when more information becomes available we will email families through Final Forms.

National Award

National Football Foundation Award

CHS senior Christian B. won the National Football Foundation Receiver Award for 2021. Each year it is given to The Most Outstanding High School Receiver in Suffolk. Christian is committed to play football at Stony Brook University in the fall.

State Swim Champion!

Denise continued her winning streak by taking the championship at the #NYSPHSSA State Federation Meet in the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke, earning All-American times. The combined Northport-Commack swim team set a new Section XI record, winning the 200 medley relay race and also earning All-American. The team finished 7th out of 85 schools at the NYS Championships.    

Girls Swimming competed in Section XI Swimming Championships! Senior Denise P. won the 200 Ind Medley and the 100 Breaststroke and she was on the winning 200 Medley Relay.  Denise lowered her own county record on the 100 Breaststroke to 1:00.86.  She was named Most Valuable Swimmer by the officials.  Northport/Commack placed third overall.  Denise P. and Junior Paige S. will be attending States Championship on November 19th.

Thanks to all who participated in and bought raffle tickets for the Varsity Girls Tennis With The Teachers Tournament. It was a wonderful afternoon of fun and tennis and we raised money for the Breast Cancer Research Fund Play for P.I.N.K. 
The Championship was won by the Lindsey C./Derek Pope/Forrest L. combo!! 
Finalists were 8th grader Amelia K. and Mrs. Van Acker!!

Girls Cross Country Qualifier

The Commack Girls XC team participated in the Section XI State Qualifier Race at Sunken Meadow and the team came in 9th place overall for Suffolk County Class A schools. Coach Gasser & Coach Sleavensky  -"GreatJob."

Undefeated JV Boys Volleyball Season!

Congratulations to the JV Boys Volleyball team  for finishing the season with an undefeated record of 15-0! They truly deserved being undefeated and worked hard. #JOB FINISHED

Varsity Gymnasts Win Big!

A HUGE success for our Varsity Gymnastics team! Jessica won 1st place overall, 1st on Vault, 2nd on Bars, 2nd on Floor, & 4th on Beam! Isabella won 1st on Beam & Ava took 2nd! Emily won 3rd on Vault & 6th on Floor! And Maddie won 5th on Floor! Coach Judge said, "Congratulations to all gymnasts on an absolutely amazing day!

Undefeated! JV Boys Volleyball

The JV Boys Volleyball team had their biggest test of the year going up against undefeated Bayport-Blue Point. After losing the first set, the team battled back from a 10-1 deficit in the second set to force a tie breaker. The team battled from behind in the last set to win 27-25, keeping the undefeated dream alive. #GOCOUGARS!

Varsity Swim Team Win!

The Commack girls varsity swim team started their season with a win!  The girls swam great and won every event against Central Islip. All three relays made their county cuts. Junior Sydney K. swam the backstroke in the 200 Medley relay. Junior Paige S. swam the free in the 200 Medley relay and anchored the 200 Free relay.  Paige won the 200 Free and 500 Free.  Senior Denise P. swam the breaststroke in the Medley relay and was lead off in the 200 Free relay with a state qualifying time.  Denise also won and qualified for States in the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly.  Girls were very happy that parents were able to be there and cheer them all on!  Next meet is on 9/14 against West Islip.

The Athletic Department announces the integration of a new online system, Final Forms, to reduce repetitive paperwork for families. Final Forms allows you to complete and sign required athletic participation forms from your computer, tablet or mobile device. All spring athletes will use this system.
