Welcome to the 2019/2020 school year at Commack Middle School. Our names are Tara Darvassy and Madhu Dutta and we will be your CMS PTA Co-Presidents this school year.  We encourage you to become a PTA member.  Membership gives you a voice and a vote in our PTA and your membership dues help fund the programs we sponsor for the students at CMS. In addition, once you become a member you will receive helpful information and reminders through MemberHub, the new PTA correspondence portal. We would also like to invite you to attend the Open House this September 2019.  It is a great opportunity to meet the teachers and become familiar with your child’s schedule. We encourage you stop by our PTA membership table and shop our new spirit wear items in the cafeteria during your visit.

Please join us and bring all of your questions to our first PTA meeting on September 11, 2019 at 9:30am. These meetings are a great source of information and provide you the opportunity to interact with administration and the teaching staff. CMS is a large school with lots of things going on and these meetings can help you stay informed of what's happening in the educational and social lives of your child. We also encourage you to sign up for one or more of our PTA Committees.  You can find the committee sign up sheet, membership form and spirit wear order form all on Backpack News and/or our new CMA PTA Website that mirrors that of the teachers’ and can be found by going through the Commack Middle School home page.

We will answer what we can or direct you to those who have the answers.  You and your child have a great support system here: the administration, the guidance counselors, the social workers, the psychologists and the teachers are always available and want to help your children have a successful and positive experience in Commack Middle School.
