Birthdays

On a child's birthday, parents may send in a special treat for the class to enjoy at snacktime. The treats must be prepackaged with the ingredients clearly labeled.  Homemade baked goods and donuts from Dunkin' Donuts are no longer permitted.

Please do not send in invitations for birthday parties unless all of the children in the class have been invited.

Classroom Management

In our classroom, I will:
  • Respect personal space, rights and property of others.
  • Follow directions.
  • Come to class prepared with all supplies and homework complete.
  • Raise my hand and wait to be called on, and listen quietly while others are speaking.
  • Be polite and courteous at all times, including in lines, hallways, and restrooms.
  • Keep our room clean.

If I choose to break a rule:

  • 1st time – verbal warning.
  • 2nd time – conference with teacher.
  • 3rd time – loss of recess / parent contact.
  • 4th time – parent conference.

Students who break our classroom Code of Conduct will receive a note home which must be signed by a parent and returned to class the next day.

Any student who receives a note home will attend supervised study hall during lunch that day (and until the signed note is returned) and is automatically out of Fun Friday for that week (see below). Continued misbehavior will result in a parent conference and in extreme cases, a visit to the Principal's office.

FUN FRIDAY

The class will have the opportunity to earn Fun Friday each week. Points will be awarded for various positive behaviors during the week. If the class earns 100 points by Friday afternoon, they will be awarded with a class raffle and an extra 20 minute recreation period.
