WHAT IS SBMT?
As referenced in
Commack School District’s School-Based Management Plan
Commissioner’s Regulations require that all school districts in the State of New York adopt a School-Based Management Shared Decision Making Team by February, 1994. Those regulations also require that a District Planning Committee be appointed to develop that Plan.
At the Primary level,
members of the SBMT team may include the building principal, CTA building
representative, classroom teachers, parents, and support staff. School based management
teams are authorized to discuss and/or make decisions on topics such as but not
limited to school environment, communication improvements, scheduling, school
enhancements and events.
