Mission Statement:

We are an honor society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of
research, exchange of ideas, mentoring, and the growth of intellectual and social stimulation by its members.
The society encourages its members to render service, to promote leadership, and to encourage the development of character . The History Honor Society was established for the purpose of “Embracing the History of Mankind.”  It is intended to be an avenue for its membership to  nurture the human side of scholarship and thought as they actively engage in service to others within the school and global community.


Membership:

Applications for the History Honor Society are available at the begriming of every school year.

To become a member, applicants must complete the application and return them to Mrs. D'Orazi before the application due date. Applicants must have a history average of at least 95 and an overall un-weighted GPA of 90 to apply.

 


Community Outreach:

The History Honor Society is an organization dedicated to community aiding the community. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning in room 219, the History Honor Society offers free tutoring for students having trouble in their history classes.

In addition to the tutoring offered, every year the History Honor Society donates part of its funds to the not for profit organization: Friends of Nepal and to a an Orphanage in Sri Lanka.

Our annual events include: History Honor Society Inductions Ceremony History Dance Guest Speakers Quiz Bowl.
